We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Edgar Khachatryan, Director of Peace Dialogue NGO and National Coordinator of the Armenian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF).
The Armenian National Platform of the EaP CSF extends its heartfelt condolences to Edgar’s family and loved ones. The civil society community in Armenia and across the Eastern Partnership region has lost a committed and compassionate voice for human rights and peace.
Edgar Khachatryan passed away on 28 February 2026. As founder and director of Peace Dialogue, he devoted his life to promoting peace, reconciliation, and human rights in Armenia and the wider South Caucasus. He worked tirelessly to bridge communities affected by conflict, amplify marginalized voices, and foster inclusive civil society engagement in pursuit of lasting solutions.
Beyond his professional contributions, Edgar will be remembered for his kindness, empathy, and the attentive presence he offered to everyone he met. Those who knew him recall honest conversations, shared laughter, and the reassuring sense of being genuinely seen and heard.
His loss is felt deeply across the peacebuilding community in the Eastern Partnership region. Edgar’s work and the organizations, initiatives, and people he inspired and mentored will carry forward his legacy. He will not be forgotten.
