The Moldova Civil Society National Platform expresses its full support and solidarity with our colleagues from the Armenian National Platform regarding the “EUROVOTE” petition campaign.
We commend the active engagement of Armenian civil society, political parties, and citizens in advocating for Armenia’s potential membership in the European Union. This initiative is a testament to the democratic spirit and the commitment of the Armenian people to participate actively in shaping their country’s future.
We believe that the voices of citizens are fundamental in any democratic society. The right to express opinions, engage in public discourse, and influence governmental decisions is essential for the promotion of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
We call upon the Armenian authorities to take due note of this significant civil society petition. It is imperative that the government respects and facilitates the democratic process by engaging in open and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders. Acknowledging and responding to the aspirations of its citizens will strengthen Armenia’s commitment to democratic values and human rights.
As members of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, we stand united in promoting democratic principles, civil liberties, and European integration. We are committed to supporting initiatives that enhance regional cooperation and strengthen the role of civil society in our countries.
We extend our unwavering support to our Armenian colleagues and encourage continued efforts towards democratic engagement and the pursuit of shared European values.
